    Default Juvenile Grasshopper Sparrow.

    This juvenile, probably just out of the nest (no tail)
    was waiting for the parent to come with the food.
    Car was used as a blind.
    Background was the hillside covered with cut off grass that was growing again.

    Karl, shooting angle, bird angle and light angle all are good and have resulted in a very nice image. Well composed and exposed. Well done.

    Sweet image of an adult Grasshopper Sparrow. Juveniles do not have the yellow between the beak and the eye or on the bend of the wing. Juveniles also show some streaking on the upper sides of their breasts.


    The lack of a tail could be heavy moult or near escape from a predator.
