    Default Red Creek Canyon Blur

This image was the payoff to a creek walk, up into the Red Creek canyon. Red stone canyon walls, deep blue sky, green foliage and various rock colors all provided an interesting reflection of colors in the creek. I haven't done any intentional blurs, so this is my first. I slowed the shutter speed to give me a chance to jiggle the camera during exposure. This particular blur was a camera pan in the direction of the water flow. I thought the colors were cool, then again, I don't know much about blur techniques. No filters, only tonal contrast and shadow work. Let me know if this works...............

Jay, I like this...it has a dimensional feel to it...like looking at an oil painting where you can clearly see the depth and shadowing of the paint. I like the flow of diagonal lines...the earth tones of the colors...this is one that I find myself scrolling back up to time and again to drink it in (no pun intended!). Very abstract...with a subtle beauty all it's own...I might darken the ULC just a bit...that's just a matter of personal taste..I think you nailed this one.

Real nice blur abstract creation, Jay. Like the subtle colors and texture - almost looks like marble. The soft, subtle look works well - for a slightly different look I played with it some in Shadows & Highlights and Curves to give it more glow and contrast - and it kind of reminded me of a satellite view of some planet surface.

Jay, I love the amount of blur and the colors. I agree it looks like some kind of marble or nature stone. I agree about that teeny area in the ULC. Very nice- esp. for your first one. Hope to see more. BTW The diagonal lines look great!

Hi Jay, nice job with this abstract and it really does look like a slab of polished marble! Good composition with the diagonal lines. I would never guess that this was your first blur attempt and I'm sure you will be showing us more. Love the colors and textures too. Well done!

Jay, this is a really nice blur! Amazing that it's your first I could see a crop from the top to a little above the orange on the right hand side as an option also. About half way up and slightly to the left of center is a dark spot that I find distracting also. Both really nit-picky because a like this a lot as is.

Thanks everyone. I'll have to keep at this blur thing, it's fun.
