    Red Tulip with my new Canon 100mm Macro lens.
    Working with some tulips my wife brought home. Working only with window light from the right.

    Canon EOS 40D
    Canon 100mm Macro
    5 sec. @ f16
    ISO 160

    Hey Ken,
    My only nit's are minor and an easy fix. I really like your red on red and the fact you chose a nice curve pattern. You should tone down the hot spots on the front petal and I would probably eliminate the BG bright V shape at top right (not with crop but clone and heal).

    The image has some pleasant tones and details but there is something missing. Seems too plain for me. Even a little spider or leaf hopper would have made the image.

    Hi Ken, I echo Roberts comments - the eye tends to wander around looking for a centre of interest. Including the stamens of the flower would have been beneficial here.

    They are very nice reds Ken. The split petal is distracting, but easilly fixed.

    Hey Ken, I love red images as they just scream on the screen. Its not a bad comp, but I think it needs some more flow, and not sure how to help without seeing what other options you had. For me the highlights add a little interest, and cause some breaks in all that red.
