It was quite tough to maintain focus on this little grebe from such a low angle, I have managed this for now, will try and perfect it soon with all your blessings.

    spec: 1/4000, F 5.6, ISO 800, + 1/3

    Manual mode.

    regards,

    Kiran.

Wonderful bg, great moment caputed, love the low angle, spot on focus and detail, see a few hot spots in the chest area. Very nice job on this one Kiran. What camera model did you use?

Thanks Chad, sorry forgot the mention the eqipment. I used a MK4 coupled with a 500mm and a 1.4TC. The hot spots are the clean white feathers beneath the top layer. :-)

    Regards,

    Kiran.

Love this image Kiran. The water droplets and pose are great and the low angle view is fantastic.
Good luck with the next one. Have you tried using two focus points plus AF expansion on the MK4?
This should give you more sensors to focus with.
And just curious, what kind of support where you using for the lens?

Gorgeous bird, water and BG! Great pose and love the water drops!

Looks a bit over-sharpened to me and would like to see the bird a bit further to the left in the frame.

    Looking forward to seeing more!

    Thank you Luis,

Thats a great idea, should try it. Will it by any chance reduce the AF speed??

I used a manfretto tripod Luis, the tripod was opened wide and I was in a hide lying down flat.

    Regards,

    Kiran.

    Thanks mike,

Must have pushed it a bit, did not notice.

I kept a bit more of the canvas on left as I did not want to loose the water droplets.

    Regards,

    Kiran.

Simply lovely Kiran. My only nit would be to move the bird to the left a bit. There will still be lots of water droplets to enhance the image,

Kiran, I don't think the AF speed would be affected.
It is kind of tricky to get two active focus points since you have to fiddle a lot with the multi-controller, but it's useful in these situations.

Excellent! From the thumb my instinct was to place the bird further left, but viewed larger I like the comp as is with the drops nicely filloing the left side. Even though the "hot" spots are clean white feathers I'd still be tempted to tone those down. Very well done Kiran!!

Looks pretty good to me. I'm eager to see when you "perfect" it Love that background and the action of the bird.

Really well done, the drops are really nice and the colors are brilliant.
I, too would move it left just a bit.

Fantastic low angle, light and pose! IQ is not great - how much of a crop is it?

Kiran, I like the comp as presented. Low angle makes this one so good. exposure, colors, bird angle....excellent. agree that it looks a bit oversharpened...but am afraid that without that, it might look soft.

Awesome. Agree a bit oversharpened. Love the composition as it is for showing all the water drops as a circle around the bird. Colors and low angle are amazing. Foreground looks solid with the perspective. Beautiful work, Kiran.

pose and light are excellent Krian, love the low angle but the IQ is not in par with your high standards.

Thanks ofer, this is about 50% of the original. Yeah I agree about the IQ, it's not that I missed the focus. The shake was a bit too fast.

    Kiran

The BG is simply magical. Love the spay of water droplets, adds so much action to the image. The low perspective works wonders for this image.
Overall a brilliant image. Brilliant work, Kiranbhai....
