Here is a picture for which I had to ask a friend of mine present on site to tell me what happened because I had my eye glued to the viewfinder with my old Sigma lens (500 mm) and the 2X TC when this Black Tern was being harassed by a Red-Winged Blackbird.
That is a weird and interesting pose with a great HA and the open beak. Ideally, you would want more space on the right instead of the left. I would also suggest a bit more at the bottom and little less at the top. The shadows are a bit unfortunate as the light seems to be coming from high up. The green bkgd is a bit too green to be natural. What makes this image is the pose.
Wicked pose and you did pretty darn well in the harsh light. I do not mind the against the rules composition as it heightens the "what's he pissed off at?" feeling that the viewer is getting. The BKGR is very noisy. Toning down the greens would help also.

Very interesting contorted pose, fits right in with this month's theme. I agree with more room at bottom to avoid clipping the tail, and also reducing the saturation in the greens. Glad you had a buddy tell you what happened!
