This is from 2008.
It looks ike I go to Carden Alvar every year except this year.
I's a great place to shoot several species if you go at the right time. (May-June)
I darkened the perch pretty substantially.
Thanks for looking.

Great bird and looks sharp. I do not understand the crop/COMP with all the space behind the bird. Light looks harsh and image too contrasty. I do like the BKGR.

Thanks, Artie.
I was debating as to which way to move the bird in the frame.
I was tempting to position it to the left.
Then I thought that it was looking towards the left, so it should be the negative space.
Obviously I made the wrong decision.
I'm wondering if you would prefer this one:
I reprocessed it.
Darkened the perch in RAW and in PP again.
Cropped it and sharpened the bird and perch only
and applied NR to the background only, although it looked pretty good before.
Nothing else done.
Thanks.
Karl, I much prefer the image in pane 8. Why do you say that the bird in the OP is looking to the left?

Alls well that ends well :). With the image in pane 8 you needed to move the bird back in the frame by focusing and then recomposing to the right.
