    Gail,
Would cut some off the top and left side. A bit too much blue space for me. Nice underwing detail. A bit more separation between the left wing and the head would have been nice too.

    Hi Clemens,
I agree about the amount of blue space but was afraid I would lose IQ if I cropped to 50%. Here it is anyway:

Sweet light and nice near wing position. As was pointed out above, the far wing position could be better. I prefer the tighter crop of the repost but might go even tighter.

I like the repost. Congrats on the 500 -- might be a little bulky for flight photos though.

The tighter crop is much better. The image is nice and sharp with a good EXP. Your bird is in heavy molt.

Like the tighter crop. That eye really stands out and I like the little bit of clouds in the sky.

The close crop looks better, Gail.
Did you order the new 500, the lighter one or the still available 8.5 lbs one?
The new one is lighter and the minimum focusing distance is now 3.7 m instead of 4.5 m but the price is pretty steep.
Congratulations either way and wish you all the joy that I had when I got mine 5 years back.

    Hi Karl,
I bought a second hand lens. The price is simply too steep for a new one. I am now saving for a 1DMK4 and a kayak!!

Great shot. The space left for it to fly into is great. The evening golden light is wonderful. I agree about the far wing position. The near wing position is very nice.
