    Default Another Perch Dispute

I know these birds are not real sharp but I thought the action was worth showing. This is a set-up with a platform feeder under the birds.
Nikon D700, 300mm f2.8, 1.4tc, tripod. 1/1600, f7.1, ISO 500. Adjusted exp, recovery, brightness in acr. Some levels, color adj, burned some bright spots in BG, dodged the shadow on the perch under the BJ head, selected the cardinal and toned him down, usm on the birds and perch, all in cs3. This seems like a lot of PP, I need to get better at field capture.

Jack, you captured the action nicely. Your molting cardinal is just about as scruffy as the ones around my feeders. Light is harsh, but the birds look sharp on my screen.

I like the interaction. I find this especially because there being two different species. The background is pleasing and I think displays the birds nicely. Too bad the tail of the Blue jay is clipped. The red on the side of the cardinal is blocked (perhaps from shifted when you saved for the web?). Thanks for sharing.

Another cool interaction. There is sure a lot of work to do when you are working in harsh light....

Thanks Chad, believe it or not the bluejay surrendered his position this time.
