Remask, Simplify, and Flood...
Hi Mitch,
That is a totally different presentation of a Lemster Aak then I have ever seen. Pretty cool.
VERY cool picture! I would like to know how you did it in PS. Thanks!
Mitch, this is really impressive. Super job on this one! My only suggestion would be to move the horizon line so that the boat looks like it is on the water. The band of shoreline between the boat and the reflection does not compute. Great colors and composite work otherwise!

Beautiful image Mitch, you have been coming up with some winners and this one is my favorite so far. Kerry makes some good suggestions.![]()
Beautiful composition, Mitch, and nice combination of Simplify and Flood for filtering. Has a nice feeling to it. Agree with Kerry's suggestion to move horizon.
Clemens,
Thanks for your correct identification of this craft! The photo of the boat was taken back in 1987 in Ijsselmeer, The Netherlands during the Race om de Noord. I was looking through old Kodachrome slides, and thought this boat would look good in the clouds. The clouds were taken through the window of an airliner a few weeks ago.
Thanks for looking.
Mitch
Yves,
Thanks for looking. Basically, I "cut out" the image of the boat (from an old scan of a Kodachrome slide) using topaz remask. Then I added it to a sunset cloud that I had taken a few weeks ago from the window of a Southwest 727. I used Topaz simplify on both the boat and the clouds (separately), and then used "Flood" at the end.
Mitch
Kerry,
Thanks for the suggestion. You are right, and I will try to see if I can get the boat to blend better with the background.
Thanks for looking.

Thanks Denise. The original "Sail" photo was from an old Kodachrome slide of mine from the late '80s. Can anyone still say Film...?
Brendan,
Thanks for looking, and for your comments..
