    Swainsons Hawks

Kettling over Boquete, Western Panama; rising upwards on the slopes of Volcan Baru; heading towards the Costa Rican border

taken in March this year, just South of Boquete. 400 in the kettle.

Man what a spectacle that must have been.

The intruder is a Broad-winged Hawk.

Nice group shot. I'm seeing a light halo around each bird.

    Hi Alan

white fringing is present in the original CR 2 file.from intense sunlight
magnifying up the cr2 clearly shows it on all the birds

no idea how to avoid or correct , any advice welcome.

Very cool experience. Did you have a drink with an umbrella in your other hand while lying on your sunbed!

    Richard,
I'm not familiar with the 40D, but you may have a setting that is causing it to do that. Something like an in-camera tone adjustment?

    Alan

Highlight tone priority on the 40D is set to disable -- that is the only setting I can think of

Been unable to resolve in PS after trying defringe options etc

so will keep as a record shot of an amazing site

    thanks all for comments

If anyone does know how to prevent this happening please post
