    I would think this is an immature Barn Swallow. It was taking a breather on a windy day. I have other tighter shots with a cleaner bg, but I liked the bit of flowery habitat in this bg.
    7D, 500mm plus 1.4Ext. 1/640, f/7-1, Av at +2/3, ISO 640.

    Dave, good angled pose and HA, and I like how you have brought out the darker feather detail. I like the softer colour to the BG, and I can see why you like the inclusion of the flowers. If anything, I would maybe take a bit off the top.

    The swallow is cute, but the background is too distracting for my taste.

    I prefer a more tight framing as well. The white at the top and in the LLC is too distracting.

    Very nice detail in the swallow. If this is full frame I would take some off the left and top. Love the body position and HA. I like the BG,
