Sweet shot Bill. The bubbles add a great element to this. Beautiful detail and spot on exposure make this a winner. Low angle ain't bad either.

Love the title Bill! Cute image too! Kind of reminds me of a photo of my kids exhibiting the same behavior at the beach when they were young. I like the sense of motion created by the blur in the raised foot. Great eye contact too. I would probably push the exposure 1/3 to the right, masking out the brightest whites in the posted version. And I would selectively brighten the head a little.

Nice action shot and spot on eye contact. Fast little birds with a little blur in the foot at 1/1600. It looks like fun.

Great bubbles and perspective! Great capture of one of these active little buggers!

Super angle Bill, and just love how the the plover seems to be keeping ahead of the bubbles. Maybe a little off the left, and good points from Doug regarding exposure. Well captured.

Thank you all for your comments and input.

Doug: I seem to have a tendency to make a lot of my images a little on the dark side. Here's a repost with the entire image brightened up a bit, plus some extra dodging on the face to help mitigate the side lighting. Plus a slight desat of the bill, which was nagging at me. Better. Thanks.

Stuart: I left the crop per the OP, for fear that taking some off the left might put the bird too centered for my taste (unless I cropped a little more all around which is a possibility).
