These guys are a plenty at a local pond in Pretoria, and its fun to get some continuous shots as they fly across the water. Taken early morning a few weeks ago. The BG is naturally OOF.

Excellent caputre and IQ, Stuart. Beautiful looking duck, love the warm light, rich browns, and glow to BG. Maybe just a bit more space above, but very nicely done!

Great complementary colours in the plumage and BG, Stu. Good choice to go manual exposure in this situation - you have kept good details in the white face and darker plumage which can be a challenge with these birds.

Love the detail, the color and the amazing light. Agree with a little more space above.

Lovely Stuart!! The BG really makes this image stand out, so complimentary.

Nice exposure, especially his head where I may have messed up those whites

I love the complimentary colors of bird and BG. Wing position and eye contact are perfect. Sharpness is top notch. I might try to bring out a little more detail in the darks, and I would place the bird slightly lower in the frame.

Nice pose and colours. I agree with the comp suggestion and since the orange above is more pleasing than the mottled pattern below it would serve double duty to improve the image!

Beautifully exposed, great flight angle and wing position. Wonderful colors on the duck nicely complimented by the BG. Nicely done. Ditto above re comp.
