    I shot this at a local rose garden last year. Nikon 180mm macro with natural diffused light.
    Mild PB and Topaz Detail...

    Dave, I love the detail and texture that Topaz Detail brought out...and the oh-so-subtle effect of PB applied is perfect for this image. My wife just took a look over my shoulder and she loved it...now I'm going to have to shoot roses! You handled the whites beautifully...great DOF...very nice image!

    Hi John, thanks for the nice words. In NJ the best time to shoot roses is in early June when their fresh and new. During the summer heat they very often get beat up so I usually shoot again in the early fall when it's cooler. They make great subjects with endless varieties...

    Great looking rose, Dave. Love the colors... feels like waiting to explode from the center. Very nice and subtle use filters.

    Gorgeous detail and colors in this rose. Beautiful capture and pp work. Love having it fill the frame. I find the black a bit jarring, but don't know what other options there are.
