Well having waited for Canon to release an update to the MKIV and sadly with the tsunami, both Canon & Nikon have been delayed with announcing/launching new bodies, although the rumours of the release of the MKIVs are quite strong, but I have bitten the bullet and bought a MKIV to add to the two MKIIIs and this is the first image from it. Coupled with the 2x MKIII I have to say, the IQ is very impressive IMHO. This is processed off-site, so the colours, exposure, etc may not be spot on.

This is from this morning, the Little owl had just come back after hunting, he is far more confident/tolerant, the female is less so and tolerates my presence rarely, dashing back into the nest, anyway...

Hey Steve, Congratulations on the Mark IV. I think you will really like this camera. I do.

This is a lovely image. I like the diagonal lines & how the owl is nestled in amongst the tree branches. The techs are spot on to my eye. Nicely seen & captured. Cute little guy.

Steve - congrats on the new camera. Love the eyes and how he seems wedged between the two diagonal branches.

    Steve,

The little owl is great for all reasons mentioned above. I think the fluffy feathers add a lot to the photo too. And with the 2x converter and a 70% crop he still looks fantastic.

Thanks guys, personally I am just amazed with the difference between the two cameras and I will put on record, Arties comments about this camera and the 2x MKIII are spot on, very impressed, so look forward to more results in due course, but many thanks to those who have commented.

Laurie, love the 'Cock of the rock', only saw it as they all were all trying to attract mates between 5-6.00am in dense forest so results were poor, but what a bird!!!

Nice shot Steve! As mentioned those eyes are very cool. Love how the catch lights give the 3D look here. Very cool

Great eyes and the fluffiness is a bonus.
A lot of wood in the frame, a bit less would be more appealing.
