Also photographed this at Longwood Gardens last year. I used a Nikon 180mm Macro along with twin lights.
Applied a mild PB and Topaz Detail...

Beautiful orchid, Dave. Love the color and the pb effect. It pops in the dark bg. I was wondering if it needed a small ccw rot to align the center column vertically.

A flower can be dramatic, and this photo clearly shows that. Wonderful!

Dave, this is a strong image...IMHO, I 'd take a little bit off the bottom and add a little bit to the top..but I love the compositional lines, you have great color and detail, and the subtle effects you've added give it just the pop it needs. One other thought...just a bit more tilt?...rotate it a bit CCW? Just thinking outloud.

    Well done!

Lovely orchid (an oncidium hybrid?) with really nice subtle filtering.

I like the comp as is. It looks natural to me - cascading.

I just purchased the twin flash and started playing around with it yesterday. Fun stuff

Hi Dave, Beautifully presented. I could see a bit off the bottom, but wonderful as is.........Nice lighting technique.

Hi Dave, this is sweet! I'm loving the colors and the black bg. I like where you went with the composition and wouldn't change a thing.

Hi Dave, love the light use of PB here. Orchids are my favorite flowers to photograph. Love this comp. I might take a little off the bottom if it were mine, but that's just me. Love it!

    Hello Dave,
Lovely colors & comp. The black b/g adds an elegant touch. Your processing augmented the beauty of the image. Very nice job!
