    Default Yello Legs High Key

Yesterday morning there finally a few birds in the salt pannes and it was bright clouds with no wind...just what I dream off.

Cropped, rotated for level and a minor amount of cleanup. Selective color adjustments.

    Nikon D300s, 600VR, TC14EII, ISO 1000, f7.1, 1/80, CW metering, NearUniWB, +2.3 EV

Not positive I am happy with the crop...your thoughts?

I am also thinking that perhaps the bird itself should be a bit less distinct...as in pulling back on the blacks and neutrals just a hair?

    Jim,

This is very cool. What a great conditions you had there. I would try to pop the bird even further with more color. If anything, I would remove the thicker green grass in between the birds breasts. The other green grasses are more subtle and nice. If you pull this one in Nik Viveza or Color Efex you can do very cool stuff. Like it.

Good point on the brilliant green grass at the breast!

Really like the high key effect! I agree with taking out the one blade of grass. Very minor !

The high key lighting is really interesting with this image. Unusual, and I think it really works.

A really nice image. I would add more black to the mid tones, and I would be tempted to remove the right grasses touching the edge.

I much prefer the original and advise that all grasses be left intact. For me, the green blade of grass that was removed makes the whole image much stronger by adding a bit of color. Light, pose, and high key all killer.

Jim, Beautiful high key look and nice that the grasses were there to include. Great image either way.
