Nice subject; beautiful green lores. Sharp, good exposure. I am not a fan of the near-wing position. I would have preferred that wing in the full down-stroke position. Otherwise perfect. Later and love, artie

    Default Thanks

I owe many thanks to Artie for being such a good teacher. I took the post Xmas IPT in 2003 and have improved my skills because of his advice.

Nice shot. Just thinking what lights cause this kind of colors on the whites :)
    Very nice.

    Default Venice Rookery

This was at the Venice Rookery early morning. I'm lucky to live in Ft Myers and have many nice birding spots all winter.

Nice capture, but its a great egret, the great white heron has yellow legs

Great light here and good technique capturing the flight image. Though someone would prefer the near wing completely down, I like the back wing down and being able to see the birds body and details.

Beautiful egret Judy! I personally would prefer lightening portions of the image, particularly the sky which seems too dark. You are indeed lucky to live in Fort Myers. Good luck with birds this season!

Oh, and as was mentioned previously this is a Great Egret. You may already know, but there is actually a white morph of the Great Blue Heron that is often referred to as the the "Great White Heron". It is a bigger bird, with a bulkier bill and lighter legs. They are seen in the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park and seldom wander as far north as Fort Myers.
