From Mount Desert Island last month. Ran normal levels, NR, USM, and removed a distracting twig. Another stop would have helped the DOF on the bird, but probably hurt the BG. C&C appreciated.

This is a terrific shot. The IQ is great. I like the BG and the diagonal perch. I might desat the greens as I see a faint greenish cast on back of birdbut let's see if anyone else sees it,

Bill,
Great shot, hard to get them in the open. I think the green cast on the bird's back may be just the bird's natural color but I might desaturate the green to tone down the background.
Nice capture; tried many times to catch one in the open and failed
BG alright for me, leaves R green
I think yellows can be very hard to get as good as this, well done
I'm jealous, tried twovdays during the migration to one of these guys in the open. I like the green BG.
Thanks all. I actually did desaturate the green BG a little to keep it from dominating the bird, but might have gone further perhaps -- matter of taste. Sibley describes the back of the Yellow Warbler as "bright yellow-green"; I think this is probably pretty close.
Colors look good to me and I like the sense of habitat in the BG.
Head feathers look a little over-sharpened to me.
Beautiful bird and nice comp on this, Bill. Good suggestions above, but very nice quality as usual!
Just a beautiful capture, Bill. I see what Mike means about possible oversharpening on the head. But lovely details, comp and BG. Wouldn't change a thing but backing off the sharpening a tad.
Thanks Mike, Brendan and Melissa. Sometimes after running my normal sharpening on the whole bird (usually USM @ 125, 0.4, 0; 100, 0.2, 0), I hit the area around the eye with an extra shot of the selective sharpening tool. I can't remember if I did that here, but maybe I hit it once too often. I appreciate the comments.
Beautiful capture Bill. The yellows and the eye look great. Congrats!
The bird pops nicely from the BG. Great colours, and the pose is nice and alert. DOF is fine with me. There is a slight smudge in front of the breast, touching the leaf, that needs smooting out. Very well done Bill.
