Image taken with the 180mm and 1.4TC combo...f/22 @ 1/500. Raw image processed in LR, then taken into PS for a little tone and color correction. Run through Topaz Detail and Simplify and then through Fractalius; all the filtering was done on a separate layer so I could brush back in the detail at the center of the bloom. Thanks for looking!

Hi John, I like how you framed the subject but might lighten the stem a small bit. Actually, I like the center since it does show detail and doesn't appear overly manipulated. Overall I like the effect and the lines give me a feeling of movement as flames would. Finally, I might tone down the left a bit. Creative!

Thank you for your comments and suggestions. Dave, we must be on the same page...after printing a copy at my wife's request last night, I noticed the blown yellows on the LHS...and toned them down a bit...and then, after reading your comments, went back in and lightened the stem a bit as well. Thanks for the suggestion!

Nice capture, title & print for your wife. Really like this one and with the good suggestions offered you took this one over the top in your repost. Very nice applications of filters. I am on the IPad and can't give you some High five emoticons but just know I am.

John, I like this and the inclusion of the stem adds to it. The fiery glow is lovely.
