Nice pose, I love how the bird's foot is partly lifted. However for me the background is a little distracting, as it is a similar colour to the bird and maybe over exposed, and this gives the picture a lack of contrast- just my opinion though. Maybe here the bird could be moved slightly closer (only slightly) to the centre of the photo as there is quite a lot of empty space on the LHS.
Just my 2 cents
For me the bird is well positioned, and I like the raised foot. I also like the fact that you are on the bird's level. Somehow the bill and the legs and feet look sharper than the feathering, especially around the head. A bit more of a horizontal crop, with some bg removed from above the head, and some darkening of the bright sand on the rock might help. Nice juvenile plumage.
Nice subject, I love the peeps! Good raised foot pose. I'm not crazy about the light though, the face seems slightly shaded and there is what appears to be a shadow line through the shoulder area. A bit of colour noise makes me think you *may* have had to raise the exposure in the shadowed parts?
I actually like the sandy bill and foot, and the eye-level perspective is good too.
Ditto Dan the Man. You did a relatively good job with the off-angled light and the high in the sky sun, but.... I would pull down the curve a bit. BTW, with its proportionately very long bill this bird is surely a female. I do like the image design and the raised foot.
