Took this tonight at one of my local beaches. Went for the background and waited the birds out. Thanks for looking.

    Hi Michael,

Lovely BG and very nice wing up shot, I would rotate CCW a bit using the water ripple line as your level mark.

    Michael:

Lovely light, interesting pose, agree with Chad about the CCW rotation.

Always a challenge re: where to put the line in the background in relationship to the bird. I generally don't like a 'horizon' line cutting through the bird if possible, but I am not sure you could have moved enough to change that without losing ground in other areas.

    Cheers

Beautiful light and background. Great picture!
You have to rotate it a bit indeed

Gorgeous light, nicely captured. I'm sympathetic to Randy's point about the BG division, but I don't think it harms the image in this case. Another vote for CCW rotation.

The light is fantastic. I don't mind or even notice the horizon through the bird, the colors are so nice
I guess, I just don't care. The bird really pops out for me, very nice shot.

Super colors and comp Mike. Nice wing position and good sharpness. I agree about the rotation
