A common bird in open coastal area of Nova Scotia. I cropped this one vertically and kept the plant as a diagonal. Unfortunately the lighting was rather to the right side and slightly behind the bird, so in retrospect I probably should have used fill flash - but I added a touch of highlight/ shadow, and slightly lightened the eye catchlight instead. The bg is a grassy area.

    D7000, 300 f/4 AF-S with 1.7TC. 1/320, f/6.7, ISO 320, EV +2/3.

    Thanks for looking.

Nice bird, perch, BG. This would have needed lower EC and lots of flash, not just fill. I also find the IQ a bit lacking, perhaps due to a large crop.

Love the perch and background. It seems a tad soft but as Dan said it might be the crop.
