    Hey Gene, nice view of this forest predator...perfect habitat serving as a backdrop. I do wish the bright spots caused by the see-through sky in said BG were not there. There is also a hot spot on the throat and shoulder, perhaps tameable during raw conversion. A bit of fill-flash would have helped here IMO, but love the curious look and the vertical composition.

    Good points by Daniel. This is a situation where I might have been tempted to do a few shots at a larger f/stop to reduce the DOF and further throw the background out of focus.

    Fill flash certainly would have been your friend, to let the background go a bit darker and reduce its impact.

    Definately helpful. Thanks il try a greater f stop next time and try to reduce some hot spots in ps.

    Gene, You got some good advice. Nice habitat shot, but it's not a Coopers Hawk. Maybe immature Broadwing or Red-Shouldered hawk.
