Here's a rare bird that visited our refuge recently. This is an immature white ibis from the Liberty Marsh section of the Wallkill River NWR. Not a rare bird for many southern folks, but only two sightings were reported statewide in all of New Jersey last year. This bird has been around for a month or so, along with a sandhill crane. mark IV, 800 f5.6 + 1.4x III, 1120mm, iso 800, f10, 1/640 shot in manual mode from tripod/wimberley. The tall marsh grasses along the trail prevent much of any low angle photography.

I like the detail on the bird and the environment around it. The image looks a little too bright and saturated on my monitor though.
I would suggest a CCW rotation to make the water lines more horizontal and the bird less tilted.

    Herb,

Agree that the image is too bright and saturated. Especially the water (blues) and greens. I would also like more space infront of the ibis.
