    Default Jamaica Bay Least Sandpiper

I liked the soft effect that the Fractalius filter added to this Least Sandpiper image, it made it look chick-like to me. This image was created at Jamaica Bay during my recent workshop there with fellow BPN'er Lloyd Spitalnik. We didn't have a large variety of birds but the juvenile Least Sandpipers are one of my favorites. While there I concentrated on capturing behavior and cute poses. This one I liked most especially.

    Denise,
This is really nice. I like how the background just fades away. And the pose is really cute. I especially like the glint in his eye
    Good Job.

Hi Denise, From Salina, Kansas. This has to among my favorites of your recent postings. Love the soft light and hi-key effect. The pose and gesture of the bird is great. And DOF just nails my eye to the Sandpiper. I would put this on my wall.....! Lovely!

Love, love, love the pose and the soft effect. Especially on the grasses. I might go a bit darker with the middle tones.

Denise, I really like this image..in my mind it ranks right up there with you image of the least tern chick in your BPN gallery. I love the effect Fractalius gave to the foreground grass blades...love the pose of the sandpiper and the catchlight in its eye...the fade to white in the background is fantastic...wow. Nicely done!
