    Default Long-billed Curlew

Shot taken a few months ago. It was taken during the first light at the south end of the North Beach. Sun just came up but light was blocked by the pine trees. I shot this with using a filled-flash. I am happy with the end result.

    Troy,

I love your curlew. It is very dreamy, must be the light. I like the profile, with the straight lines of the photo (sand and water) it works well. He is intent on getting breakfast, the small amount of flying sand adds to the photo.

Excellent light quality in this image Troy, detail on the bird is outstanding. Good use of depth of field in this shot. Sand particles flying around at the tip of the bill adds. Nice One !!

nice light and pose Troy, if you want your images to have a wow factor you need to post them at 1024 pixels.

Love the pastel colors and shooting angle! Great that there is some sand flying around!

For some reason, this shot has dawned on me how long their bills actually are. Good low angle, and I do like the soft light and colours.
