A water lily from the shoot yesterday...the light was brutal from about 8:30 or on, so shooting was a bit of a challenge. The image was taken with the 180mm w/1.4x TC attached, f/22@1/320. Processed RAW file in LR; cropped a little from the top, a little from the bottom...then brought the image into PS and evicted a bit of a pad from the LRC. Created a new layer, opened the image in Fractalius and started with one of the presets and tweaked the sliders a bit, then lowered the opacity on the Fractalius layer to bring back a bit of the original image through the applied filter. Enjoying this new plug-in...still very much in the experimenting to learn how to use it phase!
Hi John,
Love the colors of the WL and the comp very much. I also like how you processed the image with the frac filter. Your a quick study. Some might not agree but I also like how the center of the image is brighter and darker around the edges. I think it goes well with the filtering effect you did. Nice job!
John, Fractalius is one of my favorite plug-ins. You are doing terrific with it for such a short time. I agree w/ Indranil the flower seems to be glowing. Nice composition, I do wish there was a sliver more room on top but that is just a personal preference. Nice work!
Thank you for your comments and suggestions. Denise, I'll repost tomorrow with a different crop to see how it looks with more room...I tend towards very tight crops, and sometimes backing off a bit does give the image a more relaxed fill...just too tired to do it tonight and still give it the attention it deserves!
