    Default Blue-throated Hummingbird

Here is a hummer we photographed in Portal, AZ back in May.
We saw many nice hummingbirds on the property but they were only going to the feeders,
which were in the shade. Otherwise, they would not perch anywhere close for a good photo.
With the owner's permission, we took a couple of feeders and put them in the sun.
Then we started getting some nice photos...

To get the hummer in focus I waited until it was near the feeder.
Because of this, this photo had a part of the feeder which I had to clone out.
I wish we could have used flowers for this setup but it's kind of hard finding
flowers in that part of Arizona...

The light was weak because of a wildfire raging not far from where we were staying
so I had to use ISO 1600 to maintain a high shutter speed.

Fine image. Great BG and tack sharp where it needs to be. This would be a great shot to use as a composite image with a stock flower.

So cool, amazing birds and so well captured. I would love to photograph them one day. The birds pose is spot on and excellent cloning TFS

Lovely image, Luis. Excellent techs, perfect comp - very neat and clean.
Details are great. Love those tiny feet and the tongue.
    Nice work.

Very nice Hummingbird shot, it does need something else in the frame though, for me.
Nice getting the tongue out and in focus.
The subdued color looks really natural, unlike setups with a flash.
    I prefer photos like yours.

Luis, super pose, and I like the iridescence on the HB. Sharp where it counts, and good job with removing the feeder.
