    Default Green Heron with fish

Hi again. The same heron as in the earlier image but this time with a catch. Unfortunately the fish is not really sharp and I should have upped the aperture but my problem is that I get all excited in these situations and my brain stops working (same principle as when I meet attractive females ). Is there still a cyan cast in this image or have I overdone it in the other direction ?!?

    Nikon D300, 500 mm, ISO400, 1/2000 sec, F/4, aperture prio and tripod. All C&C is welcome !!!

Svante, I can relate to the brain freeze - just something we have to get over! Sometimes the hardest part is just pushing that button... I like your composition on this one, it's a different take on the 3/4 portrait. Being on a tripod, I probably would have stopped down a little just to get better feather detail overall. I would suggest toning down the very hot highlights. The color cast is more like magenta in this one. If you were to add a bit of green to the color balance I think the colors would look more natural.

Svante, I love the composition and subject of your image. I can totally relate to acting quickly on an adjustment. I'm glad you captured this one! I love the pose.

Svante, I love the composition and the intensity of the eyes. Great capture. I do see a kind of reddish cast in the BG though
