    The bird with its food looks great with both the whites and the blacks under control and good sharpness. Have never seens this birds in real life so I am not sure but to me the bill looks too brightly red (and maybe also the eyering). Personally I would prefer a background without the breaking wave with the light and brown colors in line and above the bird.

    In total I still think it is a very nice image.

    Hi Troy, love the creamy whites and chocolatey browns. This one is yummy! I think the wave in the bg adds interest and shows the environment in a nice way. Love the pose and eye contact. I would turn down the saturation on the bill and eye.

    I did not apply any saturation to the image. Perhaps my WB was a bit off. The brown and black look ok, I believe they are just that red as it was shot during the breeding season.

    Troy, I think the white balance is fine. I'm not suggesting that you added any saturation, just saying it's there.

    Love this species a little tight for me. Troy, what was the entire kit. Nice detail for 850MM FL.

    Jeff, since i shoot FF, I often use 600mm + 1.4TC.
