Took this about a month ago on Assateague, MD. It was 6 a.m. and the light was low, golden and pinkish. It's probably a bit short of critical focus. I couldn't go higher on the ISO on the 7D. Wish the legs were more in focus. But I liked the mood of this, the head angle, the BG, the eye contact.
In LR I upped the exposure on the RAW. Ran NR a couple times, sharpened a couple times. No cloning.
Thanks for looking. C & C greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Beautiful warm light and a nice pose Melissa. Maybe it's the focus issue you mentioned, but the bird still looks like it could use some additional sharpening to my eyes.

Love the very early morning light. Good low angle. With this HA I'd prefer the body to be swung over a bit more parallel, but still good as is. I too believe this could use more sharpening for web. I know its not much more than what you had here, but I don't hesitate for second about using ISO 800 when I need it on the 7D...

Here's a repost with a bit more sharpening (Smart Sharpening). I feel like shorebirds like willets can so easily look oversharpened or undersharpened that I struggle with the right point to stop!
Thanks for your feedback, Jeff and Daniel.

Love the pinish light and low angle. Head angle here is a matter of taste, nice as is. Hard work pays off don't it!
