    Default Greenie in a dream

Saw so many greenie shots this week, that I dreamt of one :-)

40D. 400 f5.6L. dont have the techs right now. but I know it is wide-open or f/6.3. ISO 400.

I was on higher ground than the bird. Got some nice shots full-bird shots but the angle was too steep for my liking. So I crept closer slowly, raised the lens, focus-lock and took it back in the grass to click. I wish the FG was more even but this crazy heat is drying up the grass rapidly.

    All comments welcome.

Beautiful BG, excellent detail, and I like your "dream" effect idea.

Keep wishing though the "haze" did not extend quite so much onto the back of the head.
Here's a repost where I added a boost of Blacks and Neutrals in Selective Color to the back of the head to try to cut the haze effect there.
Fairly subtle but see what you think.

    Kaustubh,
This is really lovely. I love the ethereal quality. Mike's repost is very subtle but dod add a bit of pop. I like the composition and the BG and the sense of forward stealth motion. I like it, I like it a lot!!

That's good Kaustubh. I like how this fades to nothing at the bottom.

Hey KD, well thoughtout here, and I like the attentive stare, and how the heron blends into the FG. Good sharp detail on the head and beak.

Neat effect here. I wouldn't mind some cropped off the left for the body to come out more from the corner. Quite different...I like it!

    Kaustubh:

Quick thinking, like the concept. The sharp eye really draws the attention since the bulk of the picture is hazy.

I kind of wish that the haze/brown wasn't quite so pronounced in front of the bird, behind doesn't bother me.

    Cheers
