I thought this was an interesting looking head-on view of this Mallard. Crop, ACR, CS5, NR on BG, sharpening. Could have used a bit more dof.

Very cool for the motif! It is a bit tight in the frame for my taste. The face that you can't see the eyes is what makes this shot very cool. Is his head swivelled around 180 degrees or is it bent forward only?

Brendan - I like this unusual pose. I don't mind the crop - I think it goes well with the subject matter. The image looks cool / blue on my monitor - I might consider upping the colour temperature a bit.

Very unique pose and lovely details and BG. If you can, I would add just a tad of space to sides and top b/c it appears a little thing.

Thanks Gail, Jeff, & Marina, much appreciated. I added some to top and sides and removed blue. Gail, head was just tilted downward for preening, but not swivelled.

Interesting view, indeed and very nicely captured!
Excellent detail where it counts and lovely BG.

Crop/color in repost is an improvement for me.
