This is from an indoor shoot from a while ago with natural window light. CS5 - Desaturated the yellows to bring out the fringes of petals more, adjusted color balance, darkened in levels, sharpened, then applied some PB oil, Topaz Detail & Adjust.

Beautiful composition, Brendan. I love the light and wonderful effect on the petals. Just wished the the upper petal was within the frame but still an excellent work!

Brendan, I like what you did to this one. Very different. I think Indranil makes a good point if you have any room on top I might include that curl. I would tighten up the comp bottom and left if it were mine. I love the way the filter highlighted the texture of the petals. Nice job!

At first glance I wanted the top petal included as noted by Indranil. Just my personal preference. I do like very much what you have achieved here. Love the treatment in your pp, the placement of the center of the rose in the frame, the lighting and the details. I really like the flow in the lower petal as well. I might just tone down a notch the white bright area in the lower petal if it where mine. Overall very nice work, Brendan!

I love the colors and filter effects. The previous comments are good suggestions so I won't repeat them. It's a very striking image, well done!

Beautiful work Brendan. Agree with lightening the image a little. I too would like to see the upper petal and the curl, but nonetheless this is a very lovely image!
