    These black-bellied whistling ducks kept many guessing as to their origin in South Africa, as they are not indigenous to the country, as mentioned by Stuart Bowie.




    Another attempt at sharpening in CS5 - Some selective sharpening with the Smart Sharpen tool...

    Location: Austin Roberts Bird Sanctuary, Pretoria, South Africa
    Date and time taken: 2011/07/24 at 08:37
    Equipment: Canon EOS 7D and 500 F4 L lens
    Settings: 500mm, 1/3200s at F5.6 and ISO 1000, center weight metering mode in aperture priority

    Super landing pose. I love the lighting and the feather detail.
    I find the background a bit distracting though.

    Tack sharp Rudi, which in turn has brought out the feather and wing detail nicely. Well exposed too. Might go hunting for them on saturday.

    excellent landing pose in sweet light with the dripping water drop that makes it even more special. excellent sharpness BG could be a bit cleaner but you don't have control over BG in flight shots
