    Default Lenovo Laptop Great Deals

Anyone interested in a (PC) travel laptop, the Lenovo 220 may be the best thing out there. 3lbs and a hi-quality screen, etc. Now at a fantastic price of $720 which is about half:

    Michael,

Thanks for the interesting post. The machine looks pretty neat for being so light. I went tot the site several times but could not get the customize and buy to come up. Reading the specs, note there is an I3 and an I5 option (which costs a little more). OK, finally the customize page came up. You can also get an I7 cpu, up to 8 GBytes ram, but unfortunately 320 GB is the largest hard drive. I also could not find if it has USB3 (which is a must for me).

(I've had thinkpads for many years.)

Default Lenovo x220 does have USB3.0 and you can get a bigger hard drive

These are terrific machines. If you do not see the specs on the website, call them...they are extremely helpful . The 3.0 USB is is the blue port on the port side of the machine. My machine has the I7 with 8gb ram ...also added the Delkin CF card reader to the Express card slot...Also I just bought my wife the Y590 which is a muscle bound machine with SSD and HD...added one magic cable to connect directly to TV....

Yes, that helps. I'm sorry to see only one USB3 port. If one wants to read a CF card and write results to a USB3 disk, one needs two USB3 ports. I'll keep my eye out for a machine with a minimum of two USB3 ports.

It's more than just a CF reader + USB3, for example copying disk to disk. When I'm on a long trip, I back up to at least 2 and preferably 3 external drives. So I need to copy from one drive to another and both should be usb3 to minimize time.
