    Setup. Nikon D700, 300mm f2.8, 1.4tc, tripod. 1/60, f5.6, ISO 640. WB, EX adjusted in acr, S/H, color, lightened eye, select sharpening of perch, some darkening of parts of BG, usm in cs3.

    Perfectly done for my taste. Subdued but vivid, sharpening and saturation just right, great perch and BG. Terrific image.

    Very nice image! Bird looks great and the perch is really fantastic! Not crazy about the bright areas at the BG but if this is not a setup I guess there wasn't much you could do about it.

    Nice image Jack. I like the raised crest and perch. I would move the perch to a more uniform BG to eliminate the bright spots as well.

    Also love the perch. Adds so much to an already well portrayed cardinal.

    Jack,

    I do not think you could have processed this image any better, it is tack sharp with beautiful detail and color.
    The circles in the background do take away from this otherwise superb image.

    I like this a lot, sort of stylized but nice to look at.
    Is the 1/60 correct?
    Even with a flash at that speed your focus is really good.

    Thank you all for your comments, I do wish I had a different bg for this, Dan it was late in the day and the light was low hence the 1/60 SS.
