    Good looking 1st year juvi. I like his grip on the tree , raised wings and head angle.

    If the IQ will tolerate it, might try a tighter crop to eliminate the right ends of the logs which are a bit busy (with a small crop from left to keep the balance intact),and perhaps a subtle vignetter of the right lower corner to keep our attention centered on the bird.

    Noelle, good shooting angle from your kayak, and I like the pose from the heron. Good sharp detail throughout the image, and I feel a vertical would have worked here too.

    The lighting was great for this one. Detail is perfect, like the pose, the image might could use just a smidgen of + exposure.
