Hi Christopher... for me this is a smashing image... the detail and exposure on your hoverfly is exceptional... bg is peeeeerrrffeeeeeect!... I would have like a better dof for the thistle but hey you cant have it all unless you stack... and that hoverfly is not going to sit that long... overall splendid... inspirational! VWD!

    Hey Christopher,
I'm with Jason! This turned out outstanding! Sharp where it needs it......and while the DOF falls off.....not a issue at all. I'd visit the pub too! Very nicely done!

Hi Christopher. Very nice detail on your fly. I like the even light, the colors, the comp, and the background is excellent. I would wish for more DOF on the front of the thistle - but that was probably not in the cards at this magnification (please remember to include ss and f/stop in your specs ). Overall, this is very well done!

Chris, this image is made all the more stunning for me by the fact that you shot at 1/3 sec and still don't have any movement blur....as the others have mentioned, I would have liked a little more DOF on the thistle, but with the exposure given you didn't have the wiggle room without boosting the ISO. Nicely done!

Nice. I even like the square crop. I'm with Roman on both the image AND the pub!
