Hey Arash, your larger version rocks. Excellent exposure, especially on the white of the bill, as one can blow that area very easily. The plumage is tack sharp, and love the reflection of the water on the coot.

Im not sure what you mean by 'spot'. Did you use a spot light to illuminate him? If so, you nailed the distribution of light.

    Hey Stu,
No, I didn't use any spotlight, the photo was made in a cloudy day, I waited until a gap between the clouds created the god ray effect on the coot. This makes the BG water look dark while the coot remains bright and shiny like a spotlight effect :)

Thanks for explaining the circumstances. I was confused with your introduction of " coot in spot light" Cheers.

    Default Great shot!

Absolutely wonderful capture. I also like the water reflections on the bird, but I'm especially impressed that the bird and the water are so still. I'm new to this, but everytime I try to get Coots, they get real active when they notice me. Now I have a high standard to aspire to.

Sharpness, details and exposure are off the charts good, Arash. Good dof too.
The head turn is perfect and I love the lines from reflecting light.
I'm guessing a lower shooting angle wasn't possible?

Thanks Sid, it was possible to get lower a bit more but the light angle would not have been ideal.

Awesome details and exposure! The eye pops really nicely. Unless the way to a lower angle was way left or right from this point I'm not sure how light angle would have changed...is that what you meant?

Excellent sharpness and detail. Exposure looks great too! Lower angle and having the bird slightly smaller in the frame could have been even nicer.

Dan, the lower angle shots didn't have the spotlight effect.

Great image Arash. I like the details, sharpness, lighting and complimentary BG.
