    Default Red-throated Loon

Here is a Red-throated Loon I photographed just outside Nome, AK.
This bird is super skittish so I had to approach it very very slowly using a throw over blind.
At times I thought it was going to fly away but fortunately it stayed. I wish the water wasn't so choppy,
but we had wind almost all the time we stayed in Nome...

Luis ,the perspective in this is perfect, together with head on capture and HA. Interesting detail and colours, tack sharp, and I too, like the choppy water. I would maybe remove the extra catchlights in the eye if it were mine.

Great work, Luis. The low angle and tight crop has gives the viewer such an intimate view of this gorgeous bird. Details are superb too.
The comp is just perfect and so are the details.
    Very nice!

What an amazing looking bird. They eye is a ruby jewels in a fine gray palette. The beak is smooth as silk and the angle and setting are so sweet. Wonderful image!

Lovely shot here!! I second Arash's suggestion of warming it up a bit...looks just a tad too blue/cyan to me (taking into account that I have no idea what this bird really looks like!)

    Thanks all for commenting!

Morkel, I am not sure where you see the blue/cyan cast. I checked the color balance on both the whites and the red and blue channels on the gray and white areas and they are off by less than 1%.
Anyway, I agree with you that it would look better a little warmer since it would more closely represent what I saw on that day.

Beautiful image Luis. I like the low angle, sharpness, red eye and choppy water.
