    Default Portfolio/Gallery Apps for iPad

I have been a member for a while but have posted very little, so I hope this is the correct Forum. I just bought an iPad wi-fi 3G, and one of the main uses will be to organize images in various portfolios/galleries to show prospective buyers at shows, etc. There are a number of apps available for this. Is anyone using any and can you make recommendations about the ones you like/don't like?

    Thanks!

I use Portfolio for iPad, it works well for my usage, and they've fixed the initial bugs that it had. I like that I can group photos in several ways. That allows for not only separating subject or location, but also to separate the the landscape and portrait position shots. It has an auto turn function, but then the iPad has to be physically turned, breaking them apart allows for less interaction.

I can't comment on the other apps, as I just picked this one and went with it.

    Fred,
Thanks for your response. I'll look into it. Someone else from another source suggested using the Lightroom app, so I'll compare these for my needs.

Once you do your research, post back what you find. I'm not aware of a Lightroom app at this time, and I didn't find one searching the app store, other than some training apps.
There is Photosmith, but it appears to be different from just a portfolio app. Again, if you find something let us know what, I'd like to look at it myself.

I think I was thinking of Photosmith, and just read the review of it at iTunes. Seems it would be a good way to get images into iPad, but I would still need a portfolio app. I found Portfolio for iPad you mentioned (http://ipadportfolioapp.com/), as well as a number of others. Of the latter, the two that seem most professional and reliable are Foliobook (http://www.foliobook.mobi/) and Padfolios (http://www.juanmazuera.com/apps/apps.html). There are videos on the websites for these and, from a quick look, I'm tending towards either Portfolio for iPad or Foliobook. With these, you wouldn't actually need Photosmith to get your images onto the iPad. Since I'm so new to iPad, I'm not sure quite how to evaluate them without buying.

Hopefully, someone else will join this discussion with experience with one or more of these.
