    Jay,

Greetings. I like the texture on the hummer and the color contrast. Not wild about the vignette. I think some depth is lost that would be better from a green background, complementing the purples/violets in the bird. The orange-blue from the bird/flower is great, esp. the reflected orange. Thanks for posting this one. Over all very cool colors.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Jay, to be honest, I like them both...I like the idea of the vignette, not just the color of it in the OP; I think darkening the corners a bit in your repost would help draw your eye to the subject. Great capture, and I love the texture of the canvas...I love that you were able to create the effect that you have while maintaining a good level of detail and sharpness. Nice capture!

    Was this at MOBOT?

Jay, I agree w/ John regarding the vignette. That flower really pops in the repost and so does the bird. Nice textured BG and a lovely composition.

Awesome base image capture & composition, Jay, and like the brush stroke application. Mike made a good call regarding BG, repost puts it over the top!

I liked the OP but love the repost. The colours and texture are wonderful. Jay, you may have only a few BIF but at least you have the whole bird (unlike me)!

Who doesn't love a hummer, and your presentation glows with color. Nice job!

Awesome composition, Jay. Love the effect on the flower and the colors. I too like the idea of having a tiny bit of vignette on the repost. Excellent work!

    Hi Jay,
The 2nd re-post works best for me. I love everything about this image... comp, lighting, background and your pp. My personal preference would be to take the blue out of the eye, beak and feet so it would not blend in with the beautiful colors you brought out in the HB. But overall very nice job!

I must go against the grain on this one, I really liked the first one..everyone's eye is different.
Lovely capture, texture, effects and composition. The red vignette compliments the red chin ....Very nice
When I looked at the first one I went "wow", second one I went "eh"....

    Hey Jay,
Maybe bringing up the greens on the OP BG?......all work.....but jacking the green on the OP may make that my favorite!
