    Default Triple Play

Photographed a few months ago alongside BPN'er Nick Palmieri. Triple water drops colliding inside a soap bubble. This is actually a first frame capture when I placed the soap bubble in the water surface. Used the Time Machine, plain water and different water soluble ink colors for each drop.
MIII, ISO 800, f/32, 100mm, 1sec, & 2 Canon strobes. Did basic RAW conversion and cleaned up a few strays in PS. Cropped to a pano.

Susan, two things are happening here...1) I am admiring the image...2) I'm trying to get my head wrapped around how you pulled it off. A beautiful image aesthetically, and technically it's over the top. I like the tight crop...the splashes (literally!) of color against the monotones of the BG and the bubble sphere...I'd love to see this bigger. Nicely done!

Isn't it amazing the things that can happen in one second!? This is an awesome drop capture and composition, Susan, and I agree with John, how do you pull something like this off? Having the dome of the soap bubble around the other drops almost seems impossible and does put it over the top.

    Wonderful amazing image, Susan.

If I see 6 drops, I'm driving to NJ for the next workshop.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to offer your comments. They are highly appreciate it. The trick is to lay off the caffeine while doing this. The actual collisions take place around 3-4 ms (thousandth of a second) so your timing has to be pretty much dead on.

Hi Susan, You have taken waterdrop images to another level. Just the setup on this takes lots of knowledge and trial and error. 3 different colored drops in a bubble...Wow!
Not sure how you can top this...amazing image!

I gotta agree "how did she do that?" was my first question. I don't have a clue but it is way cool, great work
