    Default Bosque del Apache

I am thinking of going there in November.
I know nothing about New Mexico, the only western state I have not been in.
Places to stay near the refuge, any suggestions?
Best time to go, early or late November or does it matter?
Other places to go in the area? I will fly into Albuquerque, probably go to Santa Fe and Bosque.
    Anywhere else I should visit?
7 days probably, weather info at that time of year?
A lot of questions I know, but any help would be appreciated as I want to plan the trip
    as soon as possible.

    Thanks
    Dan Kearl

I would suggest early November. You avoid the biggest crowds and get the gorgeous fall color. In late November the color is mostly gone and the people are much more numerous. The temps vary from single digits to upper 70s. You want to stay in Socorro, NM unless you have an RV.

Lot of great info on this site.

Bosque del Apache is a marvelous place and it will treat you well in November. Lots of opportunities for Cranes, Geese, Ducks, some shorebirds still around, raptors, Coyotes, Bobcats, Elk, Mule Deer, Racoons, Black-tailed Prairie Dogs, and if you get over along the west side of the White Sands area there are Oryx too.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Default Bosque

Numerous places to stay in Socorro which is a little over an hour from Albequerque. I have only been there in October. Thanksgiving seems to be the most popular, but agree with going earlier in the month. May try that myself this year.
