Great Horned Owl Fractalius

A captive Great Horned Owl in flight as it was coming in for a landing on the falconer's arm. Evicted the Jessies (sp) from the legs.

Andrew, this is a very effective use of Fractalius; justs the right balance of detail and surrealism. If it were my image I might consider blurring the BG a bit or darkening it a bit...you have good separation as it is, this might help just a bit more...but that's really a matter of taste and this image definitely works as is. Great capture!

The owl is electrifying, giving it great energy for what could be a pounce on a prey. I think the warm colors of the owl would be enhanced by toning down the bkgd some, as John suggested. Excellent pose, fantastic wing spread and brilliant eye.

Very nice work, Andrew. The colors, pose & effect are great. When I first looked at it I had the same feeling regarding the b/g as John suggested. But overall I think it's a good capture and very nicely processed.
