    Default Crash Landing

This occurred last year when our big lake at the Waterway froze over for several days. The heron was on the ice pecking at something and the pelican was flying over and saw it and must have thought it had food and landed almost on top of the heron which shot straight up in the air squawking loudly. It was pretty funny and the pelican slid all around before getting it's feet under it and then started pecking on the ice. Must have been a fish under there.

I use Topaz Adjust, Clean and Detail on the image.

Judy, Nicely framed and your filtering looks good. The softness of the image appeals to me. I might try to tone down the white a little bit if it were mine. Nice work!

Great interplay between the birds. Nice layering. Great in flight capture. I like this a lot, and I can see this with sky cropped out from the top. Just a option........... Nice shot.

    Hey Judy,
They are comical on ice and this must have just been a treat to see! I like the suggestions of toning down the whites and I was intrigued by Jay's recommendation of a sky crop......after a quick "browser" crop.....I liked it! Just another option for you to a nice image with a great story!

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I toned down the whites a bit and cropped out the sky.

Hi Judy, love the repost. Cropping out the sky really takes it up a notch. Love the filtering you have applied. Nice work!
