Nice owl. You must be enjoying all the opps up there. Just got my arm out of my immobilizer last week following rotator cuff surgery 7 wks ago so I am going to try to make it up there soon. A little turn towards you would have been sweet but they don't take directions well:). Nicely done.

Nice. I like the backlight thru the wings but not the whitish stripe thru the birdie. Would love to see this as a SQ with just a strip of marsh to eliminate the stick. BKGR somewhat noisy.

OK, Artie, see what you think of this version. A quick fix. I could do a bit better with a more time, probably, but hopefully will give you the idea.
    Thanks for your comments.

Way, way better. You took a bit too much off of the bottom.

    later and love,

ps; John Shaw once said something like, "The job of the nature photographer is to make order out of chaos." You did not quite have chaos here but the crop to a SQ is much more oderly. later and love, artie

    oooh, Nice!
I think it is a unique pose--and the eye with the catchlight is terrific, Terry.
I am going to have to get up there soon!

    Thanks all for the comments!
Bonnie - Hope you go up. Don't wait too much longer, though - they will likely be leaving soon. They certainly are exciting subjects and the setting is gorgeous. I would love to see what you can do with your 500mm 4L and extender!

    Terry, I don't have a 500! :(
    I have a 300/2.8 with a 2X on it--but I am looking now for a 500. Gotta have one. :)
If the weather looks decent-I might give it a try this week.

The 300 with the 2x will work great there - good luck! I'll watch for your posts.
