    Default Black Necked Stilt

    Attached Images Attached Images

    Canon 1D Mark IV, 500 f4, 1.4x II
    1/2500, f6.3, iso 800, manual

I wish I had clicked a fraction of a second later, but I'm happy to have this given that this is the first time I got anywhere close to this species in Austin.

    Feedback appreciated.

    Thanks.

Looks sharp with excellent exposure. How much of a crop is it?

This is ~60% of FF. Wish I didn't have to crop that much, but this is the only "fly by" she/he gave me that day.

60% of the frame for BIF with the Mark IV is not a big crop at all. Well done!

    Nice shot.
Why "later"? I think I would prefer earlier...."coming in" as opposed to "going away".

Sid, excellent exposure and sharpness, and I like the banking angle. I remember these guys being erractic flyers, so well done on getting him in the frame.

Thanks Ofer. I did get a few other frame filling shots with good poses, however they're against a bland colorless sky :/
    Might post something later.

Steven, she turned toward me a fraction later for a better HA and display of the wings.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Much appreciated.

Nice one overall Sidharth!! I would prefer it not flying away, but this is pretty darn good and sharp. I'd try to remove the large OOF whitish area above the head.

I will certainly try the suggested tweak.
